The Niger State Hospital Management Board has announced a reduction in bed fees at General Hospital Suleja, in a move aimed at easing the financial burden on patients.
Hospital authorities, in a statement titled ‘Circular For Reduction Of Bed Fees,’ and dated August 11, 2025, also issued strict instructions to ensure staff comply with the new rates.
Under the new policy, general ward fees are now N2,000 for 10 days, replacing the previous daily rate of N500.
Amenity ward charges have been reduced to N1,000 per day for a 10-day stay, down from N2,000 per day.
“Henceforth, the new fees are 2,000 Naira only for ten (10) days instead of the previous 500 Naira per day, while the Amenity word is 1,000 Naira per day instead of the previous 2,000 Naira per day for as long as the patient will be in the facility for 10 days,” the circular said.
“It’s in this development, therefore, the management has instructed all the Incharges to take note. Anyone found collecting more than N2,000 or N1000 as highlighted above will be dealt with administratively.”
The management said the new fees take effect immediately and emphasised that all staff must comply strictly with the directive to avoid administrative sanctions.
