Words In Pen: Why We Can’t Complain About Politicians and Still Act Like Them
We complain every day about bad leadership. We say: “They’re corrupt, they’re selfish and they don’t care.” And most times, it’s true. But let’s be honest, how different are we?
We as citizens oftentimes dignity bad things to satisfy our pleasures.
We cheat in exams and call it “helping each other”. We inflate prices for customers who don’t know better. We collect bribes to speed things up. We use “connection” to get jobs we didn’t earn.
But when politicians do the same, we’re shocked. Not because what they do is different from ours but because they are on public platforms so we easily point fingers. We must always remember that corruption doesn’t start with public officials, it starts with ordinary citizens who think “it doesn’t matter.” You are first a citizen before a public servant.

Here’s the reality:
A society that tolerates small dishonesty cannot expect honest leaders.
If you sell your vote for a bag of rice, you’ve already chosen four years of suffering.
Integrity isn’t about position it’s about choices, big or small.
We can’t complain about politicians and still act like them.
If we want better leadership, we must first be better citizens.
Change starts at the ballot box, but it also starts in our daily behavior.
