Emmanuel Bezhiwa Idakula popularly known as  Bez Idakula; a Gbagyi Alternative soul singer from Karu Nasarawa state born in 1983 10th November, in Jos, central Nigeria. He grew up in a musically inclined family, listening to gospel songs. Bez attended Loyola Jesuit College and also graduated from Covenant
University in 2007 with a BSc in Information and communications
technology. Bez lost his father, a politician and Gubernatorial Candidate for Nasarawa State
in Nigeria.

Things became hard for his family after the death of his father but in
College, he received help to pay his fees. As a child, he sang in choirs and began playing his father’s guitar at
the age of nine. His parents recorded duets, with his mother singing and
his father playing the guitar, while Bez,his younger brother and his two sisters, Eunice and Lydia
provided a sing along audience. Before Bez went into music full time, he started painting and sketching.
 
He sang at open mic nights while at Covenant university. One of such open mic nights was called Taruwa (“gathering” in the Hausa language). Bez played every two weeks at Taruwa
and he one day met Praiz in one of those nights, he later collaborated with Praiz on “That Stupid Song”.
His debut album ‘Super Sun’ was released in 2011. He is a Glo ambassador.

In January 2014, Bez got married to the daughter of former Oyo State governor Bolatito . His latest Album is Gbagyi Child which he released 2016. He has been working with Cobhams Asuquo. Bez got nominated in 6 categories at the 2012 Headies awards
including Best Vocal Performance, Recording of the Year and Best RnB
Album. One of his songs – “YOU SUPPOSE KNOW” won the Best Alternative soul song in the 2016 Headies Award
