About 1000 African migrants were rescued in the Mediterranean Sea in a 24 hour operation conducted Red Cross and professional Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) teams.

There are reports that  a rubber boat and a wooden boat were spotted last night, after having been adrift at sea for over 20 hours. Fortunately, everyone was recovered in relatively good shape, considering the situation. Children, young boys and girls, pregnant women and babies were among those rescued. Every one is in good condition despite the rough and unfriendly weather condition. They are sailing towards Italy
