The leader of the Indeginous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has denied reports that he has rejected his bail condition. A Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday granted Kanu bail. As part of his bail conditions, Kanu is expected to provide three sureties with N100 million each.

The sureties must include a serving senator, a jewish religious leader and a highly respected person that must own a land property anywhere in Abuja.


Justice Binta also ordered that Kanu must not grant any press interview or organize any rally pending the outcome of his trial. Some Nigerians felt the bail conditions are stringent.


There have been some reports that Kanu has rejected his bail conditions. His parents who spoke to reporters after the ruling, complained about the condition and demanded that he be released uncodntionally.


Speaking through his legal counsel, Ejiofor Ifeanyi today, Kanu denied the claims that he has rejected his bail condition. He said he would meet his bail condition within 48 hours. (L.Ikeji)
