The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter has directed its members to embark on an indefinite strike action over unpaid six months salaries the state government.
In a notice signed the Secreratary of the judicial staff, Comrade Sule Subaru on Monday night, the union said after an emergency meeting, it resolved to shut down the courts indefinitely with effect from Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
According to him, this is as a result of the inability of the staff to transport themselves to their offices. The notice partly reads;
“The Exco commends members for their endurance and faith in the union despite untold hardship inflicted on them the non payment of salary the state Government.The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria Kogi State chapter frowns at the insensitivity of the state Government towards the Judiciary not releasing our monthly subvention.This notice theredirects all staff to sit at home as from tomorrow, the 11th day of December, 2018. Consequently all staff are enjoined to give maximum cooperation to this directive.”
