Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have murdered 18 persons in an attack that took place in Ariri community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State on Wednesday, October 4th night. Four persons were also injured in the attack.
According to Sahara Reporters, the attack, which was carried out on mostly women and children, took place at about 11:30pm suspected herdsmen who were dressed in black.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army’s taskforce, Operation Safe Haven, Major Adam Umar, said he was not yet aware of the incident.
“It’s possible my boys are there. I’ll call them to see and maybe they will get back to me later. I am sure they are on top of it.” he said
This latest attack comes few days after a law student in the University of Jos, Shedrak Kums, was killed in the school premises.
