Today Sunday 19th April 2020, the NCDC apologized for wrongly reporting a case in Ekiti State which inflated the general figure for Covid-19 positive confirmed case yesterday Saturday 18th April 2020. This apology was made on their offical Twitter handle. Four cases were reported instead of three. Read the tweet and corrected figure below:
Yesterday, we erroneously reported one new case in Ekiti. This was wrong and was caused an error in the verification process.
Therefore, as at April 18 2020, there are 541 confirmed cases, 166 discharged and 19 deaths.
Ekiti state has 3 confirmed cases, NOT 4.
As at 10:40 pm 18th April, the correct breakdown of cases state is as follows:
