Niger state police command through the PPR ASP WASIU A. ABIODUN gives report of some arrest made in and within the state. Read below:

CRIME BULLETIN 20th May, 2020

ARREST OF ELEVEN (11) SUSPECTS FOR KIDNAPPING, ARMED ROBBERY, BEING IN POSSESSION OF FIREARM, RECOVERS 36 COWS AND 4 SHEEP

ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER/RESCUE OF VICTIM: On 04/5/2020 at about 2300hrs, information received that unknown gunmen attacked the house of one Ifeanyi Chukwu Ezeugwu ‘m’ of Ndaiji village Lapai LGA and kidnapped him to unknown destination. On receipt of the information, Police detectives attached to Lapai Division swung into action, rescued the victim unhurt while one suspect name Muhammadu Dauda ‘m’ aged 19yrs of Ndaiji Fulani camp was arrested. During Police interrogation, the suspect confessed to have belongs to a four man gang of kidnapping syndicate which other three of his accomplices are at large. Investigation is in progress to arrest other fleeing suspects, case under investigation.

ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS/RESCUE OF VICTIMS: On 10/5/2020 at about 2315hrs, information received that suspected kidnappers invaded Kpada Community, Lapai LGA, reportedly kidnapped three women namely: Adama Audu, Zainab Mumuni and Amina Ibrahim while two others were shot dead and four persons sustained gunshot injuries. On receipt of the information, a team of Policemen from Lapai Division swung into action and rushed the victims to General Hospital Gulu for treatment/Autopsy. In the course of investigation, on 12/5/2020 a team of Operation Puff-Adder at Lapai and local Vigilantes were mobilized and arrested two suspects; one Sani-Mohammed Kindi aged 27yrs, and Sani Jibrin aged 30yrs both ‘m’ of Ebbo village in Lapai LGA while the three kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt, suspects confessed to the crime, Case under investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM; On 11/05/2020 at about 1230hrs, a team of Policemen from Tafa Division while on patrol along Daupe/Daidai road intercepted and arrested one Nasiru Abdullahi ‘m’ of Gwagwa, Abuja with a locally made revolver rifle wrapped with sack. During interrogation, suspects confessed to have bought the rifle from one James Pada ‘m’ of the same address at the rate of seventy thousand naira (N 70,000) with the intention of arm robbery in the area, case under investigation.

ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS: On 13/5/2020 at about 2145hrs, information received that on the same date at about 0015hrs, a group of unknown armed men numbering about three, attacked the house of one Mohammed Ibrahim ‘m’ of Lefu village Gurara LGA and robbed him of a sum amount of money. On receipt of the information, a team of Policemen from Gawu-Babangida Division arrested the following suspects one Mohammed Idris, Ado Abubakar age 21yrs and Usman Ibrahim aged 20yrs all ‘m’ of the same address. During investigation, suspects confessed to the crime, exhibits recovered are; one fabricated gun and a Machete, case will soon be charge to court.

RECOVERY OF SUSPECTED RUSTLED CATTLE: On 14/5/2020 at about 1120hrs, while on joint patrol along Kampanin-Bobi Bangi road, the operatives attached to Bangi Division and local Vigilante intercepted a group of suspected cattle rustlers, on sighting the patrol team, the bandits abandoned 36 cattle, 4 sheep and fled to the bush. Meanwhile the joint patrol is intensified with a view to arrest the fleeing rustlers.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF LOCALLY MADE PISTOL; On 19/05/2020 at about 1230hrs, a team of Policemen from A’ Division Suleja while on patrol along Kwamba area, on reasonable suspicion, intercepted and arrested; one Chinonso Ofor 23yrs ‘m’ of Jabi FCT, Chukwu Gabriel 21yrs ‘m’ of Apo FCT, Patric Nnaji 32yrs ‘m’ of Gwagwa FCT and Franklin Madu 22yrs ‘m’ of Lugbe FCT. Investigation into their arrest revealed that the suspects attacked one Samuel Abiodun ‘m’ a staff of Lion seal industry, Kaduna road, Suleja while on his way to a Commercial Bank to make deposit and snatched a sum of five million, five hundred thousand naira (N5,500,000.00k) cash from him, suspects confessed to the crime and further mention one Chikwudi ‘m’ of Apo FCT now at large as their gang leader. Exhibits recovered includes, one locally made Pistol with one live ammunition and Mazda 626 vehicle with reg. no. KWL 101 FP, case under investigation.
