From the Desk of The Punch, it has been gathered that The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has urged
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to address the problem of poor infrastructure,
multiple taxation and insecurity before wooing foreign investors to the
state.

The party noted that if the governor was
actually serious about bringing investors to the state, he should
provide an enabling environment that would make prospective investors
willing to invest in Abia.
The party stated this on Saturday in a
statement issued its state Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere and made
available to our correspondent in Umuahia, the state capital.

APGA posited that the lull in government
activities, especially in terms of project execution and payment of
workers, showed that the allocations to local government areas were not
judiciously used.
It added that people at the grass-roots were suffering untold hardship as a result of underdevelopment in the state.
The party also said it regretted that
civil servants and pensioners in the state had been subjected to the
worst form of indignation and oppression due to non-payment of their
salaries.
It added, “After a deep assessment of
the Ikpeazu-led administration in the state, we feel pained the
obvious abandonment of governance which has added to the sufferings of
the people.’’
