Welcome friends,
Congratulations to everyone. It’s a new month, happy independence to Nigeria and Nigerians.

I know some young and old folks dispute the fact that it shouldn’t be tagged as “happy” in “happy independence” simply because a lot of Nigerians aren’t happy coupled with the devastating and deteriorating system our country is been governed; this is not far from the truth. We keep changing power but there are no qualitative results. The educational standard is poor; officials misappropriate Government funds, they embezzle public funds, there is low standard of health facilities, high rate of unemployment, high rate of death cases through insurgency, crises, kidnapping and the rich keep suppressing the poor.

Yes, it’s her 60th birthday with a “but“. There is a but that exist on the route of our achievement as a country. Nigeria at 60 can be liken to a man who is celebrating his 60th year birthday. Of course, any man or woman who is privilege to witness a 60th year birthday is known for achievements like being married, have children, possibly grand children, retirement, landed properties or investment are what tells that a man is settled in life at 60.
Well, this is just the opposite of what we see and the situation we are into in Nigeria. We are faced with so many ordeals, our system is corrupt with no standards. Security affairs in regards to its citizens are poor and this has contributed to the loss of lives and properties.
How about the various political manifestoes from each state? How many of our leaders are truly representing? We have a lot of barons of incompetent leaders at all nooks and crannies of the country. There is sentiment and segregation among tribes, ethnic groups and religion, which has led to a set back and disunity.

I think before we proceed in our celebration each year, it’s important we look at where we come from, what has become of us in the past, present before diving into a celebration. Let’s work with analysis before we begin the independence celebration.

Below is my prayer for Nigeria:

Oh God of creation, direct
our noble course
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to
know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where
peace and justice shall reign.

Thank you
Have a lovely day, GOD IS IN CHARGE.
