The Chairman of Munya Local Government Council of Niger, Mr Yahuza Mohammed, has been impeached.
He was removed his councillors last week Friday for alleged gross misconduct and maladministration.
The legislators accused him of alleged diversion of the council resources and awarding capital projects without approval of the house.
Special Adviser (Political) in charge of Niger East Senatorial District, to Gov. Abubakar Bello, Mr Pius Wakili, confirmed the impeachment of the chairman to newsmen.
