Yesterday, according to NCDC, it was announced that Niger state had recorded a covid-19 positive case. This resulted to the state government imposing a total lockdown from 13th April 2020.

Just early this morning today 11th April 2020 before the Governor addressed the press, the First Lady of Niger state Dr. Amina Bello in her Old Student Association shared in details the story behind the covid-19 positive case in Niger.

Read her story below as sent to our correspondent:

“Good morning my sisters. I’m back again!
Niger has recorded one positive case. This is one case too many. We all need to stay home. Total lockdown will be imposed in the next 48hrs in sha Allah. No curfew, total lockdown. Please stock up, stay safe and healthy. May Allah see us through
The case that has been identified is here in chanchaga. The good thing about the case is that the man has been in our isolation centre for about one week. He lives here in minna and had travelled to lagos. On the day he returned, his compound and family members refused to allow him to enter his house and he was reported to the mi ministry who took him away on the same day and placed him in isolation. So we are hopeful he didnt cause too much damage”
