The commander, 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Sokoto Brigadier General Gijikanwa Nwosu gave direvtives that illicit drugs and illegal substances should not be allowed inthe Sokoto town. He ordered for the immediate ban at the Giginya Barracks Mammy market, Sokoto. Shops found wanting were sealed. This is what he said..

“The Commander is hereassuring the Sokoto state Government, the Sultanate Council and the entire people of Sokoto that no stone will be left unturned in restoring the values and traditions of the Seat of the Caliphate.”
