The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar were in Minna to visit the family of the late former governor of Niger state, Engineer Abdulkadir A. Kure.
They weren’t alone, other dignitaries include the deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, former Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako, former Nasarawa state governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, former Eboyi state governor Dr. Sam Egwu, among others.
The state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello received them all.
During the condolence visit the Senate President disclosed that….
“Kure served his people, he cared for his people, his achievement as a governor is unequaled.”
The former Vice President Atiku in his speech also said… “I consider this loss personal to me because the late governor Kure was a friend, a brother and a colleague. We all belonged to the class of governors of 1999 and from that club I became the Vice President. I remember his role. Although he was one of the youngest then, he was very moderate because he was very calm and very religious. He provided a lot of support to that club of 1999.”
