convoy of the Emir of Potiskum in Yobe State, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram suffered a gunmen attack along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway in Kaduna State at about 11:00 pm on Tuesday January 14. 

Four aides of the Emir and two other passengers of a commercial luxurious bus were killed in the attack which also left five others injured.

Kaduna State Police Spokesperson, DSP Yakubu Sabo who confirmed the incident on Wednesday January 15 said the gunmen abducted an unidentified number of passengers to an unknown destination after opening fire on the convoy before the arrival of security operatives. 

While the injured victims including the Emir were rushed to the hospital for treatment, a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the gunmen and rescue the kidnapped victims.
