The Special Assistant to Delta state governor on Community Development,
Avura Awheme, was kidnapped at Olomoro in Isoko South
Local Government Area of Delta State last week.
He is said to be one of the key contenders for the chairmanship seat of the local government in the next council poll.
The kidnappers have reached out to
them and have demanded for N30 million as ransom but N5 million has been
paid to them. Despite the payment, he has not been released. This happened while returning from a trip
where he had gone to settle issues pertaining to a certain property.
