The national football team of Nigeria, known as the Super Eagles, has successfully secured a place in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast. In the semi-final match against South Africa, held at the Stade de la Bouake on Wednesday, February 7, Nigeria emerged victorious after a penalty shootout.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw after the regulation time of 120 minutes, with both teams managing to score in the second half. Notably, the Super Eagles converted four penalty kicks, while their opponents, Bafana Bafana, failed to convert two. Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper of the Super Eagles, played a pivotal role saving two penalty kicks during the shootout, making him the hero of the night.
