Reports from Jalingo the Taraba State capital indicate that Chief Oche Obi, a billionaire business mogul has regained his freedom from his captors.
Chief Obi a young business tycoon in his late thirties was declared missing Taraba State Police command after his wife reported to the Jalingo Decisional Police office that her husband received a phone call from a known person familiar to the family as a result, the husband dressed up and walked out of the house on foot, having informed her of where he was going.
It was learned that since then Oche Obi was nowhere to be found a situation that created fear and tension among his immediate family, relatives and friends and nobody was able to establish contact with him as his phone was switched off.
According to David Misal, the Police Public Relation Officer, Taraba State Command, the facts established on the case, revealed it as a clear scenario of missing person since there was no contact made any person or group of persons demanding a ransom.
Chika Obi, wife of Chief Uche Obi accused former Acting Governor of Taraba State Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi for all the motives behind the abduction of her husband and appealed to President Muhammad Buhari and the Inspector General of Police Muhammad Adamu to secure her husband release.
According to Mrs Obi, her husband and the former Ag. Governor have business deal and they were at court several times over dispute about business ownership.
However multiple sources close to the family of Chief Uche Obi confirmed that the young billionaire of Igbo extraction has regained his freedom from his captors late Thursday evening. But no details on how he was release or ransom was given before his reunion with his family.
Uche Obi, a business tycoon is a household name in Taraba State and he is into the business of selling building materials, real estate development, oil, hotels among others.
