I have been to many relationship seminars where the most
debated question is :Is Kissing a Sin? The constant recurrence of this
question vividly shows that even Christians are not ready or willing to
call a
spade a spade.

1 Corinthians 16:20 ” All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss” is
one portion of the Bible that many Chtistians use to justify their
lust. But who are we kidding? We all know that the type of kiss Apostle
Paul referred to is not the type we see on TV.

Let us take the case of Demilade ( not real name) and his
fiancée as an instance. Demilade is not the type of guy you need to
preach to about the dangers of sexual sin or premarital sex because he
is a strong advocate against premarital sex in his own right. His
fiancée, Esther was also a firebrand herself. They both knew that as far
as their relationship was concerned, sex is a No-Go Area. But to
Demilade, a kiss is just fine; “it’s just a way to express my love
afterall” he always justified himself anytime he attempted to kiss
Esther who always declined. For Esther, Kissing is a sin and a very
important prelude to sex. However, with constant and subtle pressure,
she gave in. And so, like disciplined kissers,(lol) they always ensured
it was not more than a kiss. So, they always stopped just before the
hormone rush took the best of them.
What Demilade did not know is that the kiss had opened the
gates of lust to Esther’s heart. Firebrand Esther saw herself
unbelievably resorting to masturbation.
“I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, the roes,
and the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love,
till he please.”
Song of Solomon 2:7(KJV)
They had awakened love before its time and so they have to
bear the consequences. I know the media makes kissing seem like the
norm, infact, it is a date ritual. But you have to remember that though
you are in the world, you are not of this world.
So, let’s show them how it is done before you end up where you never envisaged.
Have a great week ahead!
