Death toll in the Tuesday’s boat accident  which occurred in  Niger State has risen to 18 as local divers have discovered two additional corpses in River Niger.

The  Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency, Ahmed Inga, on Thursday disclosed this to newsmen in Minna.

He added that the deceased passengers in the capsized boat  were 15 males and three females.

 Inga added that 13 of the deceased were from Maje  village in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state, while the rest were from neighbouring Kebbi State, stressing that the remains of the victims had been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
